Privacy Policy
The short version: this site is a blog. If you subscribe, I store your email so I can send you posts. Analytics tell me which articles get read. I don't sell anything about you to anyone, ever.
The longer version is below, because the law requires specifics.
Who's responsible
The ADHD Nest, operated by David McDonald, based in Malta.
Contact: hello@adhdnest.org
What gets collected
If you subscribe. Your email address, and the date you subscribed. Handled by Ghost, which runs this site. Used to send you posts and occasional updates — nothing else. Unsubscribe from any email and it stops immediately.
If you just read. Aggregate analytics: pages viewed, roughly where in the world you are, what kind of device and browser, and which site sent you. This comes from Ghost's built-in analytics, which is cookieless, doesn't identify you individually, and doesn't follow you across other websites.
There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, and no third-party tracking scripts on this site.
If you click an affiliate link. The retailer — Amazon, or another programme — sees that you arrived from here and sets their own cookie to attribute the sale. What they do then is governed by their privacy policy, not this one. I receive sales totals and commission amounts. I never see who you are, what else you looked at, or your payment details.
Cookies
This site sets only essential cookies: Ghost uses them to keep you signed in if you're a subscriber. Analytics is cookieless. Because nothing non-essential is set, there's no consent banner to click through.
Affiliate cookies are set by the retailer — Amazon, for example — on their site, after you click through. Not by this one.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the essential ones may stop you staying signed in; nothing else will change.
Third parties that see something
| Who | Why | What they get |
|---|---|---|
| Ghost (Ghost Pro) | Hosts the site and the mailing list | Subscriber emails, page requests |
| Pexels | Serves some post images | Your IP, as with any image request |
| jsDelivr | Serves a script file | Your IP, as with any file request |
| Amazon and other affiliate programmes | Attribute purchases | That you clicked through from here |
How long it's kept
Subscriber emails until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Aggregate analytics according to Ghost's retention settings.
Your rights
If you're in the UK or EU, you can ask for a copy of what's held about you, ask for it corrected, ask for it deleted, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Email hello@adhdnest.org and I'll action it within a month. There's no charge.
You can also complain to a data protection authority. As this site is run from Malta, the lead authority is the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (idpc.org.mt). You can also go to your own national authority — in the UK, that's the ICO.
If you're in California, you have similar rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what's collected and to have it deleted. The same email works. I don't sell personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of there.
Children
This site is written for adults. It isn't aimed at under-16s and I don't knowingly collect their data.
